Fall Meeting of the Tuscaloosa USBC Association – 29 September 2024

The fall meeting of Tuscaloosa USBC was held at Shindig FEC on September 29, 2024, and was called to order at 2:01pm by Benny Chappell, Vice President. Roll call of Officers and Board Members was taken with Jim Spitzley and DJ Brasfield absent.
Parks Burgin presented the minutes of the Spring Meeting held on May 19, 2024. Sheila Gambrell motioned that the minutes be accepted and 2nd by Jerry Conway. Motion passed.
There were no Officer’s or Director’s reports.
Parks Burgin present a summary of the financial standing of the Association.
Benny gave a summary of new State rule concerning average during Alabama state handicap tournaments.
Benny discussed our upcoming events and tournaments. First will be the 50/50 for breast cancer (Bowl for the Cure) held October 7-12 during league bowling. Our Thanksgiving meat sale runs from October 7 to November 16 with delivery on November 24. Proceeds go to our youth. Benny also reminded everyone about our Hall of Fame. Forms will be available by the end of November and are due back by February 12, 2025.
Benny further discussed that our bulletin board was located behind lanes 7 and 8 at Shindig and will have a list of all our events and tournaments.
Benny asked for a show of hands of everyone that had visited our web site. Two (2) showed a response.
Drawing for the $75 went to Blake Howard (youth) which will go in his scholarship fund.
